Eddie Cairney Bio

Eddie Cairney is one of Scotlands most prolific songwriters. He became a serious singer/songwriter in 2008 influence by award winning songwriter Rodger Lyall who invited him along to his songwriting group at Arbuthnott.

Eddie has written over 1500 songs since 2008 including the Burns Revisited Project where he set out to write new music to a few of Robert Burns lyrics and ended up with 892 songs.

His piano style is influenced by Albert Ammons, Champion Jack Dupree, Dr John, James Booker, Memphis Slim, Piano Red and Pinetop Smith.

His songwriting style is influenced by Matt McGinn, Michael Marra and Randy Newman.
